Credit 1 - Integrated Project Planning
Intent
Maximize opportunities for integrated, cost-effective adoption of green design and construction strategies.
Prerequisite

1.1 Preliminary Rating. As early as is practical, conduct a preliminary LEED® Canada for Homes meeting, with the participation of the Provider and key members of the project team.
Due to the vast distances between team members we will be conducting a conference call to meet the prerequisite.

1.2 Integrated Project Team (1 point).
I will obtain this point by having team members that include mechanical engineering, green building design, and landscape engineering. We will actively involve all members in the preliminary design, energy and envelope systems design, final working drawings, and construction. We will conduct meetings (conference calls) at least monthly.

1.5 Building Orientation for Solar Design (maximum, 1 point). Pick any two for a half point each:
I will get 1/2 point for the east-west axis of the building within 15 degrees of due east-west and 1/2 point for at least 90% of the glazing on the south-facing wall completely shaded at noon on June 21 and unshaded at noon on December 21 for the total 1 point.

Credit 2 - Durability Management Process
Intent
Promote durability and high performance of the building enclosure and its components and systems through appropriate design, materials selection, and construction practices.
Prerequisite

2.1 Durability Planning.
Prior to construction the the project team will encompass all the prerequisite requirements.

2.2 Durability Management.
During construction, I shall have a quality management process in place to ensure installation of the durability measures.

2.3 Third-Party Durability Management Verification (3 points).
I will have the Green Rater inspect and verify each measure listed in the durability inspection checklist.

Intent
Minimize the environmental impact of the home by incorporating additional green design and construction measures that have tangible and demonstrable benefits beyond those in the LEED® Canada for Homes Rating System.
